I have been coming to IABS since before I entered a doctoral program. Each conference has been welcoming and developmental and filled with people
willing to help with research and career advice. I recommend IABS to anyone wanting to become part of a genuine academic community.."Tara L. Ceranic, PhD
Belonging to IABS and attending the annual conference is like going back home after some time away: you realise how much you love being part of it,how comfortable and accepting it feels, and that it's a place to which you want to return again and again. I don't know of any other conferences where people show genuine interest in what each person is doing, offer useful suggestions and advice and investigate really fascinating questions that the rest of us haven't thought to ask yet. If you're looking for an academic home, this is it!. Melissa Baucus, PhD
At the end of March 2010, our suitcases were full of sweaters and warm jackets. The Banff edition of the IABS conference took place at the stunning cultural center of the Banff ski resort and a breathtaking landscape of ice, lakes and mountains. Naturally, this exceptional context inspired many vibrant presentations about the preservation of natural resources, the oil industry activities in Alberta and climate change. Thanks to Robbin Derry for a wonderful conference!.Anne Barraquier, PhD
